  • In 30/08/2018, the Computer Science Department at Bishop Heber College organized the "Demystifying Data Science" program. The event aimed to provide students and faculty with a deep understanding of data science concepts and their practical applications. The program was tailored for both novices and those with some prior knowledge of the field.
  • In 20/09/2018, the Bishop CS Department organized an event titled "Improving Employability Skills." This program was designed to enhance the job readiness of students by focusing on crucial skills needed in the modern workplace. The event included workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, and professional networking. Industry experts were invited to share insights and practical tips, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of what employers seek in potential candidates. Through interactive sessions and real-world examples, students gained valuable knowledge and confidence to excel in their future careers.

  • In 07/03/2019, the Computer Science Department at Bishop Heber College organized the "Demystifying Data Science" program.   • IOn the 9th of August 2019, our department proudly hosted the inauguration of the Computer Science Association. The event marked a significant milestone in our journey to foster innovation, collaboration, and excellence in the field of computer science. The inauguration commenced with a warm welcome from the Head of the Department. We also had the privilege of unveiling the association's vision and mission, which aim to provide a platform for students to engage in cutting-edge research, participate in workshops, and collaborate on projects that address real-world challenges. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and an interactive session, where students had the opportunity to discuss their ideas and aspirations. The inauguration of the CS Association is a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation. We look forward to a year filled with exciting activities and achievements.
  • On September 8, 2019, our CS department hosted a TECH-TALK on Bio-Medical Instruments, featuring discussions on innovative diagnostic tools, wearable health devices, advancements in medical imaging, and the role of AI in healthcare. Expert speakers shared insights on the latest technologies shaping modern medicine, offering attendees the chance to engage in meaningful discussions and network with professionals.   • Interaction With Foreign Faculty - January 30, 2020 On January 30, 2020, Bishop Heber College's Computer Science Department hosted the "Interaction With Foreign Faculty" event. This event brought together international educators to share their expertise with our students. Throughout the day, students engaged in workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions led by faculty from prestigious institutions abroad. Topics covered included artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software engineering. The event aimed to broaden our students' perspectives and enhance their understanding of global advancements in computer science. It was a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and learning from esteemed international scholars.
  • Behavioral Skill and Personality Development - November 11, 2020 On November 11, 2020, Bishop Heber College's Computer Science Department organized a transformative event focused on "Behavioral Skill and Personality Development." This initiative aimed to equip students with essential soft skills and enhance their overall personality. Throughout the day, participants engaged in a series of workshops, interactive sessions, and skill-building activities designed to foster communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Facilitators included experts from diverse professional backgrounds who shared practical insights and techniques. Topics covered during the event included effective communication, time management, emotional intelligence, and career readiness. Students were encouraged to actively participate in role-playing exercises, group discussions, and case studies to apply their learning in real-world scenarios.   • On 5th March 2020 , Bishop Heber College's Computer Science Department hosted a Skill-Based Seminar on Leadership, aimed at nurturing and developing leadership qualities among students. Throughout the seminar, participants delved into various aspects of effective leadership, guided by experts in the field. The sessions included interactive workshops, discussions, and practical exercises designed to enhance skills such as decision-making, communication, team-building, and strategic planning. The seminar emphasized the importance of visionary leadership in driving organizational success and fostering innovation. Participants learned how to leverage their strengths, inspire others, and navigate challenges effectively in diverse contexts. On 4th March 2020, Bishop Heber College's Computer Science Department organized a Seminar on Self-Esteem, focusing on empowering students to develop a healthy sense of self-worth and confidence. The seminar provided a supportive environment for participants to explore and understand the concept of self-esteem. Led by experienced facilitators, the sessions included interactive discussions, activities, and reflective exercises aimed at enhancing self-awareness and promoting positive self-image.

  • On March 17, 2021, our CS department proudly inaugurated a Certification Course on Full Stack Development using .NET. This course aims to equip students with comprehensive skills in building modern web applications, covering both front-end and back-end development. The inaugural event featured insights from industry experts, emphasizing the importance of full stack development in today's tech landscape.
  • On May 15, 2021, our CS department conducted an Online Value-Added Course on Adobe Photoshop for Beginners. This course provided participants with essential skills in photo editing, graphic design, and digital artistry, enabling them to create stunning visual content. The interactive sessions and hands-on projects ensured a practical learning experience, empowering attendees to harness the full potential of Adobe Photoshop.
  • On May 3, 2021, our CS department conducted a session on IoT Smart Home Applications using Node MCU with Google Voice Assistant. The event focused on integrating smart home devices with voice commands, demonstrating practical applications and setup. Participants gained hands-on experience and insights into developing and controlling IoT systems, enhancing their understanding of smart home technology.

  • On July 9, 2024, Bishop Heber College's Computer Science Department held its inauguration ceremony. Our event was graced by distinguished guests, including our department's Head Dr. J. Issac Gnanraj, Dr. C. Ravi Das (Vice Principal, SF), and Vice Principal, Dr. J.G.R. Sathyaseelan. During the ceremony, badges were awarded to the CS department leaders and committee members.
